I spent the evening sitting on a hilltop cross-stitching and it was absolutely lovely. My perch was roadside but elevated rather high up so I was out of most passerbys direct line of vision. From here I could see the comings and goings of Twill-town, while also feeling as if I was sitting in an ocean-side meadow plugging into the rhythmic pattern of cross stitch.
My aim was to make this piece double-sided, thereby ‘spreading the love’ into the hospital or town depending on the viewers perspective. There is something rather tantilizing about highlighting a beautiful yet somewhat neglected space, while remaining hidden in plain sight.
Special thanks goes out to Knit2Tog for the original cross stitch lesson and of course, Miss Cross Stitch must be creditated as the major source of inspiration.
